Rockets and Bombs (Identity Series) is a performance created by students of the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre. The premiere will take place on October 11 at 7:30 pm in the DISK Theatre.
This performance explores the theme of identity – individual identity, identity of person within a group and identity of a group. Identity is nothing stable; it changes and varies through presence and communication, it develops and stagnates, it excels and it fails. In order to find a possibility of authentic, raw identity the performance is built as a series of task-based scenes: fragments of improvisations, set choreographies, performed failures and impossible retellings of stories, resulting in a shared moment between the performers and audience.
With each performance, new tasks are added -unknown to the performers, creating a new sense of danger, risk and potential for chaos and failure, while old tasks remain the same, change, shift, and evolve through their repetition all to reveal truths about our identity. Each performance will be as unique as each of our identities and different as each audience that comes to witness it.
